For many of us, we’ve been taught to hide our emotions or told that they are wrong or evil. That we can’t trust ourselves, and not be led by our feelings. So we throw scripture and religion at things without going through the emotional healing process and then wonder why the same problems keep repeating.
And as a coach, there are two problems I see women struggling with over and over.
1. Is a lack of emotional management via spiritual bypassing and
2. A lack of boundaries.
That’s why I was so excited to welcome boundary expert and counselor, Dr. Alison Cook to the podcast and talk with her all about spiritual bypassing, the act of “Jesus Juking” our emotions, and the problems of others without allowing space to lovingly observe and process first. In today’s episode, we discuss what to do instead and how you can process your emotions in a healthy way. We also discuss the unique struggles women have with boundaries and how to learn to set loving boundaries with yourself and others.
🎙What is spiritual bypassing aka “Jesus Juking” and why it’s so detrimental to your emotional health.
