Today I want to teach you how to have the skill set of a warrior.
I want you to have a built-in powerful habit of self-awareness where you refuse to allow the enemy, circumstances, or your own thoughts to derail you from your calling, from your assignment, and from all of the incredible things that God has placed in your life.
As women, we have many unique gifts and a special skill sets. We have women’s intuition, where we just know and feel certain things.
Our special set of skills are tied to our emotions, and our emotions are one of our biggest strengths because we tend to be more aware of things on an emotional level. Our emotional intelligence is to be used to our advantage.
The way we are wired is a strength. However, sometimes like with anything in life our greatest strengths can also be our biggest weakness. We have to learn how to use the tools we are given, the built-in computer system that is our brain, our thoughts, and our bodies to do great things.
Here’s what I believe, I believe that each and every one of you has been called for such a time as this. You were created on purpose for a purpose.
As women, we need to get off of the emotional rollercoaster and live in a place of freedom, love, and alignment.
But how?
If you want to live as a powerful woman you have to develop powerful habits. One of the things I teach all of my clients is that our lives and so much of what we do are habits.
The good thing is that you can change the way you think and you can change the way you speak because these two things are simply HABITS.
Habitual negative emotions put us on an emotional roller coaster, the crazy train as I call it, where we’re living reactively to our emotions, where our feelings are in charge.
I want you to move towards being proactive with your emotions. I want you to be able to say things like, “Guess what, I am NOT a victim to my emotions”, “I can push the release button and get off of this crazy train when I want to.”
For so many of us, we just let the emotional roller coaster keep going round and round. Weeks go by, months pass, and all of a sudden we’re just in this perpetual mood that we could have immediately avoided. The truth is we could’ve gotten off the emotional rollercoaster immediately, we just didn’t have the skill set to do it.
We cannot afford to let the emotional, mental rollercoaster distract us. We cannot afford to continue living our lives playing the same old story and the same old tape in our minds over and over again.
The enemy loves for you to be distracted. He’d love for you to partner with a story that’s not true, a tape that’s rooted in poverty, bitterness, rejection or trauma. He’d love nothing more than for you to be stuck, instead of living out the calling and assignment that God has for you.
I don’t want that for you.
One of the things that I want you to stop doing RIGHT NOW, is to stop giving in to the power of fear. Stop giving in to the power of shame, and stop giving in to the power of why you’re feeling this negative emotion, because what you focus on grows.
So often I catch women, beating themselves up, saying things like, “Why am I going through this and why am I on an emotional roller coaster?” “I should be past this, and I should be better.”
Stop saying these things, stop speaking death over your emotions and over your life.
You’re an overcomer. You can overcome the residual side effects of negative emotional habits and become the powerful person that God created you to be. Own this.
I want you to erase and replace your negative emotions. Negativity for truth.
When you use this technique, I need you to understand that God has given you free will, and he has given you a very, very powerful mind.
This is not about doing something in your own strength. I believe that God is our source, the creator of all things, and when we’re intimately connected to him he is the fuel for everything that we do.
God has given us power, love, and a sound mind, and one of the fruits of the Holy Spirit is self-control. In a lot of translations, if you look at what a sound mind means, it means self-discipline or self-control.
You need to develop the ability to recognize the negativity and immediately nip it in the bud. Don’t react, because you’re not a victim to this swaying emotion. Instead, immediately recognize, erase and replace it with the truth.
Erase, replace, erase, replace.
Your emotions are just a red flag or a warning signal of thoughts that you’re believing.
We believe certain thoughts based on stories and tapes that we’ve told ourselves.
We all have these tapes or stories that we’ve had from childhood. Trauma, rejection or certain things that we’ve experienced, where we’ve got a narrative going on in our minds.
What we need to do is become more aware of what those stories or tapes are, and rewrite or reprogram the story. Put a new tape in the tape deck.
You’ve got to erase and replace. Pause, delete, and then start a new track.
I’m going to give you an example. In my life, if I wake up feeling heavy, anxious, or like I’ve got to hustle, strive or work harder, and I’m feeling burnt out…
I’ve got a choice to make. I can continue to let this emotion, the feeling of having to hustle and perform to get it all done as fast as possible, dictate my thoughts, or I can erase and replace.
I have to say, for me ”That’s an old story, an old tape.” I’m past that. I live and work from a place of rest. I get so much done in less time because I believe that I am who God says I am and that’s enough.
If we can immediately begin to become self-aware and emotionally aware, we can reverse engineer and train ourselves to think and believe differently. We can stop being led by our feelings.
Our feelings are just thoughts that have manifested in our body or in our soul.
You need to say to yourself, “What am I thinking?” What am I believing to be true today that has caused me to feel this feeling?”
Then you will begin to develop the emotional and mental awareness that is a skill set, and you can begin to train yourself to live victoriously.
Only then can you have victorious emotions and live from a place of power. Only then can you live from a place of being proactive instead of reactive.
You’re a child of God no more and no less than anyone else.
You’ve been given a spirit of power, love, and a sound mind.
You have the ability that’s been given to you by God, to take authority over what you’re feeling and what you’re thinking.
You can do it in an instant by getting connected. I want you to develop the powerful habit of “erase and replace,” and focus on your calling.
It is a spiritual thing. You can feel it, and you’ve got to let it rise up in you.
Go about the business of doing your life, with love, peace, joy, and fruitfulness. You were created on purpose for a purpose. You are not an accident or a screw-up.
If you want your life to change and you know there is more, you’ve got to begin to get into alignment with the love, truth, and freedom of God. Don’t allow your emotions to set the tone and run rampant.
Develop the method of “erase and replace.” Erase that story, erase that lie, and replace it with the truth and what God is speaking to you.
